February Final Finish

So the end of February went by faster then I expected and I had some stitchy bug loss along the way. But, I did have a final finish in the month from 2018 and that was my Lizzie Kate - Wouldn't Life Be Great... I love this piece so much and I haven't figured out just how I want to finish it yet but I'm coming close to the ideas of what I want. It is stitched on a 32ct Linen from Hobby Lobby in a Denim type color. I changed out ALL of the thread colors and they are as follows - GAST 990, 0440, 7003, 0420, 0340, 1150 and WDW 3960 and 1302.

February - Mid Month Review

The beginning of February has been a little crazy my beloved Hailey passed away and the year anniversary of Gizmo came and went as well. There were several migraines that tried to keep me down as well but I was able to get a fair amount of stitching in and one finish. Currently no FFOs for this month but hopefully that will change before it’s over!

I got some work done on my Ionomy piece which I haven’t posted any photos or tagged anywhere yet as I do not want my friend to see it yet. Check out the latest video for some looks at it! It’s almost finished!!!

I started Miss Bingley’s Library by Plum Street Sampler and I have per usual made color changes as well as some artistic changes. The bird is now Potter and the flag is now the Texas flag and the house is going to be much much smaller. Stitching this on Picture this Plus Legacy in 32ct Lugana. The colors I’m using this are as follows - DMC 02, 822, 792, 739, 890, 3799, 3893, 3882, 3731, 3733, 3727, 3808, 3811, 926, 498, and B5200.

Finally, I started and finished Oh Say Can You Sea by Hands on Design. I am doing this whole series on Picture This Plus Regency 32ct Lugana. The colors I chose for this are as follows - DMC 598, 3862, 3345, 3328, 3825, 317, 931, 704, 721, B5200, and 760.

January Ended

I got a LOT done the second half of January. So really lets just get into it.

I finished up the Pear Tree Inn by Little House Needleworks. See the previous post for color changes and the story behind the changes I made. But, I LOVE this piece so so much! 

I finished A Year of Celebrations - May by Hands on Design. See the previous post for the color changes. 

I finished A Year of Celebrations - June by Hands on Design. Again I am doing the entire series on a 32 ct Jobelan from Picture this Plus in Brash! The colors I used for this month are as follows - GAST Brandy, Roasted Marshmallow, WDW Capri, Liberty, Molasses, Carrot, CCW Blacksmith Blue and DMC B5200.

A Year of Celebrations - July by Hands on Design. The colors I used for this month are as follows - WDW Molasses, Lancaster Red, CCW Blacksmith Blue, Amber Waves, GAST Roasted Marshmallow, and DMC B5200.

A Year of Celebrations - August by Hands on Design. The colors I used for this month are as follows - WDW Clockwork, Terra Cotta, Moss, GAST Hibiscus, Avocado, Raven, Tarnished Gold, Island Blue, and DMC B5200.

I was able to work more on my Barbara Ana Designs - I Give You My Heart at work. See previous post for colors I'm using.

I also made progress on my Spring ABCs by Little House Needleworks. See previous post for colors I'm using.

I also had a new start before the end of the month. I started Lizzie Kate's Go Green series. I'm changing up the colors massively and the order of the blocks because.... well..... why not? I am stitching it on PTP Antiqued 18ct. The colors I am using are as follows DMC - 3809, 3051, 310, 3774, Blanc, 18, 3731, 105, 3046, 06, 349, 747, 21, 904, 3857, 07, 312, 938, 907, and 519. Some of these colors may be added onto throughout the stitch!

January... FFO Crazy

So in January I went a little FFO crazy to say the least. I FFOed many things and sent 5 things to Heather to have her take some of my finishes and make them into flat folds. Welcome 2019

So in 2019 one of my goals is to be more on top of blogging and not just about my stitching. But, to kick off the first two weeks of this new year stitching is what we will be catching up on!

The first week I worked on the 'Apostle's Creed' by Heartstring Samplerly to attempt to complete it for my guilds challenge for January. I was short by 5 words, however, I was able to finish and it is officially my first finish of 2019 and I've also FFOed it! I know that's crazy for me! For the 'Apostle's Creed' the colors I used were - DMC 3816, 223, 781, 3852, 677, 3045, 420, 822, 731, 221 and WDW Clam Shell. I started this piece in 2017 and it is stitched on 18ct Picture this Plus Antiqued.

I have also been working on the 'Winter and Spring ABCs' from Little House Needleworks. Both are being stitched on 32 ct. Lugana from Picture this Plus Oaken. I started Winter just after Christmas 2018 and I started Spring this last week. The colors being used for 'Winter ABCs' are as follows - DMC B5200, 938, 22, 08, 935, 645, 3883, and 729. The colors being used for 'Spring ABCs' are as follows - DMC 898, B5200, 3820, 800, 760, 3364, and 08. These are both also apart of 12 pieces I need to finish for my guild this year.

I also worked a little on my just before Christmas 2018 start. It is being stitched on a piece of 18 ct. Picture this Plus Haunted that I modified by coffee/tea dying it then baking it. It is Barbara Ana Designs 'I Give You My Heart'. I'm in love with this piece and I had to have a project to do in all Victorian Motto Sampler threads that I bought from Tiffany's Destash! The colors I have picked are as follows - DMC 310 and Victorian Motto Gold Rush, Colonial Rose Tint, Formal Garden, Leprechaun, Wine, Yummy Peach Pie, Early Cape Cod, Audubon Medley, Pretty Pink Petals, Orchid, May Blossoms, Seaside, Cherry Swirl, and Best Prim Purple.

My newest start is my February challenge piece for my guild and that is Little House Needleworks 'Pear Tree Inn'. I am stitching it on a 28 ct. unknown linen that I coffee/tea dyed and baked myself. I have changed up the design as far as the border, the title, removing words, and making the house smaller. I have also changed up the color palette and it is as follows - CCW Amber Waves, GAST Tarnished Gold, Schoolhouse Red, and Green Tea Leaf, DMC 613, 3051, 3052, 3799, 3790, and 535. I did this because there was a Pear Tree Tea Room in my home town growing up and the original location was a little red house with a pear tree on the wall and in every pear was a menu item so I thought what a cute way to remember trips to the tea room with a few minor modifications.

The other project I have been working on since the beginning of the year is 'A Year of Celebrations' by Hands on Design. I started May and have completed January-April. I have made color changes on every single block and have made some charting changes as well. I am stitching them all on 32 ct. Lugana from Picture this Plus in Bramble. The colors I am using for May are - GAST 0850, Brandy, Hibiscus, WDW Molasses, 2225, Moss, Fabrics by LJ Shirley Temple and DMC B5200 and 3881.
